WHO WE ARE

The Quilt for a Child mission is to hand make quilts for foster children who were removed from their families with no reunification possible and are now living in residential facilities. These kids are waiting for a forever family. 

Unlike other “call for quilts”, a QFAC quilt is custom made based on the child's likes and interests.

Here's how it works....
A request for a quilt is emailed to QFAC by a case worker and a "Call for a Maker" is posted on the @QuiltForAChild Instagram page.  A quilter volunteers to make the quilt.  A quilt is made specifically for that child according to his/her favorite color(s), likes and interests. The process takes approimately 6 weeks. The quilt is shipped to the case worker who will deliver it to the child. All efforts are made to keep the children safe.

Quilt For A Child is comprised of all volunteers. QFAC is currently working towards becoming a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit.  We are determined to make an impact on these children.  Foster children are a crisis in every state in the US but most times, the least talked about. The quilters at QFAC hope to make a positive impact on these children, letting them know they are not forgotten and are cared about, even by strangers.
